If you are looking for a toddler friendly day out in Norfolk that actually lives up to expectations, ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure is one place we would genuinely recommend.
We visited ROARR! during our family holiday on the North Norfolk coast, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the entire trip. Our toddler is completely dinosaur obsessed, so this day was always going to be a big deal — and thankfully, it did not disappoint.
What Is ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure?
ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure is a large, outdoor focused family attraction near Norwich. It combines life sized dinosaurs hidden in woodland trails with adventure play areas, water play, indoor soft play and live shows.
What makes ROARR! particularly good for toddlers and preschoolers is how much space there is. It never feels cramped or overly structured, and you can move around the park at your own pace, dipping in and out of attractions depending on energy levels.
First Impressions Arriving with a Toddler
From the moment we arrived, the park felt well organised and clearly designed with families in mind. Everything is signposted clearly, staff were friendly, and it was easy to get bearings without feeling rushed.
Straight away, our toddler was spotting dinosaurs and getting excited, which set the tone for the day.

Attractions That Worked Brilliantly with a Toddler
Valley of the Dinosaurs
This was one of our favourite parts of the park. Walking through the woodland and spotting life sized dinosaurs hidden among the trees felt exciting without being scary.
The paths are uneven in places, but manageable, and it was perfect for slow walking, pointing things out and letting our toddler take it all in.
Outdoor Play Areas and Treehouse Play
There are multiple outdoor play areas across the park, all designed for climbing, exploring and imaginative play. Our toddler loved being able to move freely without constant queues or restrictions.
Pterodactyl’s Treehouse was a particular hit and somewhere we could easily have spent much longer.
Dippy’s Splash Zone and Foam Zone
The water play areas were a huge hit. Splashing, running and playing helped burn off energy and was perfect on a warm day.
These areas are suitable for all ages and felt well managed, with plenty of space so it never felt overwhelming.
Dinomite Indoor Adventure Play
The indoor play area was great when we needed a break from the sun and wanted something slightly calmer. It gave us a chance to reset while still letting our toddler play and explore.
Shows and Entertainment
We watched Dippy Live and the dinosaur themed shows, which were pitched really well for young children. They were lively and fun without being too loud or overstimulating, and gave us a chance to sit down while still keeping our toddler engaged.
Dippy’s Raceway and Other Activities
Dippy’s Raceway added a bit of variety to the day and was easy to enjoy without long queues. We liked that we could dip in, try something new, then move on without pressure.

Food, Picnics and Facilities
We took a picnic, which worked perfectly. There are plenty of picnic spots around the park, and it felt very relaxed and family friendly.
Toilets and changing facilities were clean and easy to access, which always makes a big difference when visiting attractions with a toddler.
Attractions Better Suited to Older Children
Some attractions, such as the high ropes and more physical assault style courses, have height and footwear restrictions and are better suited to older children. We appreciated that ROARR! is clear about this, making it easy to plan your day realistically if you are visiting with a toddler.
How Long Do You Need at ROARR!?
We spent a full day at ROARR! and never felt bored or rushed. That said, it is also the kind of place where you could leave earlier if your toddler starts to flag, without feeling like you have missed out.
Is ROARR! Worth Visiting with a Toddler?
In our experience, yes.
ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure strikes a really good balance between excitement and space. It is engaging without being overwhelming, and flexible enough to suit the unpredictable nature of toddler days.
If your child loves dinosaurs, outdoor play and exploring at their own pace, this is one of the best toddler friendly days out in Norfolk.

Final Thoughts
ROARR! was genuinely so much fun and one of those days where everyone enjoyed themselves. It felt well thought out, relaxed and perfectly pitched for toddlers and preschoolers.
If you are planning a family trip to Norfolk or the North Norfolk coast, ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure is well worth adding to your itinerary.
